When planning a tarmac driveway, the area's usage is a crucial factor to consider while calculating the necessary foundations. The construction of the driveway varies depending on the specific purpose of the resurfaced area, and the sub-base's quality is paramount.
At Pavetar UK Limited, we construct sub-bases that are at least 100mm in depth for light usage, such as pathways. For a driveway, the sub-base would be increased to 150mm, and for a car park or access road, it would be 225mm. Following the sub-base, binder course(s) and surface courses are applied.
However, these depths are merely a guideline, and each project's construction and calculation are determined by the existing terrain and intended usage.
